Do you see me now?’ was a project that started at WOW festival Rotherham 2022 and aimed to showcase and celebrate disabled people, whether their disability is visible or invisible. Using large sheets of recycled materials as a canvas and lots of paint and pens, I invited people to make their mark on the world, fearlessly, boldly and creatively. By masking certain areas on the canvas that are painted over and then removed, we can highlight certain phrases or images that pop against the mark making of the participants.
Over the weekend of Wow festival 2022, over 100 people joined me to create four large pieces of art.
There is something very special about collaborative artwork, gathering the stories and marks of many people to create something that has a piece of that community. The great thing about this project is that it is accessible to many people, regardless of their ability, most people are able to make their mark.
This workshop can work within festival settings, as workshops prior to event to create signage or displays, for corporate or team building events and for private events. For more information on costs, get in touch.
